Parvati Kalyanam : Sonnet - 4
Heavens could not wait, for Shiv Parvati marriage,
Son of Shiv, was destained, to be the General of Gods;
Cupid was ordained, to impel Shiv, to pre engage,
Spring joined Cupid, and formed a special squad.
Spell of Spring, made the trees come alive,
Princess Parvati arrived, like Nature’s counterpart;
Cupid struck Shiv, with an arrow to revive,
Shiv lost the balance, and the tune of his heart.
Glance of Shiv, heaped shyness upon Parvati,
love in progression, was celebrated with a bash;
ascetic Shiva regained, his senses and divinity,
burnt Cupid to ashes, and disappeared like a flash.
Shiv Parvati forged, the entire existence,
encompassing time and space, as Nature’s confluence.
